plasmic-automation
Helps your agent automate Plasmic tasks. It can perform repetitive actions to optimize workflows.
What it does
This tool helps automate tasks within Plasmic, a platform for building user interfaces. It uses Rube MCP to connect and execute these automations.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to create or modify Plasmic elements on a large scale.
- ✓To integrate Plasmic with other tools or workflows.
- ✓When you want to automate the publishing of designs made in Plasmic.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Automate the creation of 10 buttons in Plasmic with the text 'Learn More' and blue color.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

How it works
First, you need to connect Rube MCP and ensure it's linked to Plasmic. Then, the tool searches for specific instructions for your task, checks the connection, and performs the action in Plasmic.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

Plasmic Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Plasmic operations through Composio's Plasmic toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/plasmic
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Plasmic connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitplasmic - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitplasmic - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Plasmic operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Plasmic task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["plasmic"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

FAQ
What is Rube MCP?
It's a system that allows AI to connect and control other tools, like Plasmic, without needing extra API keys.
Do I need to know how to code to use this?
No, the goal is for you to ask the AI to perform tasks in Plasmic using natural language, without writing code.
What happens if the connection fails?
The tool will notify you and, if needed, provide a link for you to complete the authentication and activate the Plasmic connection.
