griptape-automation
Lets your agent automate tasks using Griptape. It can help build and manage workflows and integrations.
What it does
This tool helps automate tasks using Griptape, a toolkit for building AI applications. It works by connecting to Rube MCP and discovering the right tools to perform your tasks.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to perform multiple Griptape actions at once.
- ✓When building or managing applications that use Griptape.
- ✓To automate repetitive Griptape tasks without manual coding.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Automate the creation of a new Griptape agent and set its permissions.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

Ready-to-paste message
How it works
First, the AI searches for available Griptape tools. Then, it checks if the connection is active, and finally, it executes the task using the discovered tools.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:
npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill griptape-automationOr download just the file:

Griptape Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Griptape operations through Composio's Griptape toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/griptape
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Griptape connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitgriptape - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitgriptape - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Griptape operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Griptape task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["griptape"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

FAQ
What is Rube MCP?
Rube MCP is a system that allows the AI to access and control other tools, like Griptape, without you needing to write complex code.
Do I need to install anything?
You need to set up Rube MCP in your client by adding a specific address. The Griptape connection is managed by the AI.
Why should I always search for tools first?
Tools and their instructions (schemas) can change. Searching first ensures the AI uses the latest and correct information to perform your task.
