kaggle-automation

Lets your agent automate tasks in Kaggle. It searches for the best tools to perform actions. It's useful for those working with data science and machine learning.

What it does

This tool helps automate tasks on Kaggle, a platform for data science and machine learning. It allows you to interact with Kaggle programmatically, without having to do everything manually through the website interface.

When to use it

  • ✓When you need to download many datasets from Kaggle at once.
  • ✓When you want to submit competition results automatically.
  • ✓When managing or creating data science competitions at scale.

Example of what to ask your AI

“Automate the download of all 'machine learning' datasets from Kaggle.”

Ready-to-paste message

Use this skill to help me: https://github.com/ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills/blob/master/composio-skills/kaggle-automation/SKILL.md Read the SKILL.md file at that link and follow its instructions for my task.
How it works

First, you connect your Kaggle account. Then, the tool finds the available functions to interact with Kaggle and executes the task you requested, like downloading data or uploading files.

Installation

Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill kaggle-automation

Or download just the file:

curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills/master/composio-skills/kaggle-automation/SKILL.md -o SKILL.md

Kaggle Automation via Rube MCP

Automate Kaggle operations through Composio's Kaggle toolkit via Rube MCP.

Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/kaggle

Prerequisites

  • Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
  • Active Kaggle connection via RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit kaggle
  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS first to get current tool schemas

Setup

Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.

  1. Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS responds
  2. Call RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit kaggle
  3. If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
  4. Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows

Tool Discovery

Always discover available tools before executing workflows:

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Kaggle operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}

This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.

Core Workflow Pattern

Step 1: Discover Available Tools

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Kaggle task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}

Step 2: Check Connection

RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["kaggle"]
session_id: "your_session_id"

Step 3: Execute Tools

RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
  tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
  arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"

Known Pitfalls

  • Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
  • Check connection: Verify RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE status before executing tools
  • Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
  • Memory parameter: Always include memory in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls, even if empty ({})
  • Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
  • Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

Quick Reference

Operation Approach
Find tools RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS with Kaggle-specific use case
Connect RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit kaggle
Execute RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL with discovered tool slugs
Bulk ops RUBE_REMOTE_WORKBENCH with run_composio_tool()
Full schema RUBE_GET_TOOL_SCHEMAS for tools with schemaRef

FAQ

What is Rube MCP?

Rube MCP is a system that allows AI to connect to and use external tools, like Kaggle's toolkit, to perform tasks.

Do I need API keys?

No, you just need to add a specific address in your Rube client's configuration to connect. Then, you manage the Kaggle connection via a link.

Why should I always search for tools first?

Tools and their options can change. Searching first ensures you are using the most current and correct information so the task works as expected.
