mapbox-automation
Helps your agent automate tasks in Mapbox. It can generate maps, analyze geospatial data, and integrate location functionalities.
What it does
This tool helps you automate tasks on Mapbox, a mapping platform. It uses a system called Rube MCP to connect and execute commands.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to create routes automatically.
- ✓When you want to add points of interest to a map.
- ✓When you need to fetch map data programmatically.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Create a route from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro with stops in Aparecida and Guaratinguetá.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

How it works
First, the system checks which commands are available for Mapbox. Then, it ensures your Mapbox account is connected. Finally, it executes the command you requested using the information found.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:
npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill mapbox-automationOr download just the file:

Mapbox Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Mapbox operations through Composio's Mapbox toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/mapbox
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Mapbox connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitmapbox - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitmapbox - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Mapbox operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Mapbox task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["mapbox"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

| Operation | Approach |

FAQ
What is Rube MCP?
It's a system that allows AI to connect to other tools and perform tasks, like those for Mapbox.
Do I need any special keys?
No API keys are needed. You just need to set up Rube MCP in your client.
What are 'tool schemas'?
They are like instruction manuals for each command the AI can use. They specify what information is needed for each task.
