ngrok-automation
Lets the agent automate Ngrok. It's useful for creating secure tunnels to expose local services to the internet.
What it does
This tool helps automate Ngrok tasks, which is a service for exposing local servers to the internet. It uses a system called Rube MCP to find and execute the necessary actions.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to create an Ngrok tunnel for a local service.
- ✓When you want to manage active Ngrok connections.
- ✓When you need to discover which Ngrok commands are available.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Create an Ngrok tunnel for my web server on port 8000.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

Ready-to-paste message
How it works
First, the tool checks which Ngrok commands are available using RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS. Then, it ensures the Ngrok connection is active. Finally, it executes the desired command.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:
npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill ngrok-automationOr download just the file:

Ngrok Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Ngrok operations through Composio's Ngrok toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/ngrok
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Ngrok connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitngrok - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitngrok - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Ngrok operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Ngrok task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["ngrok"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

FAQ
What is Rube MCP?
It's a system that helps the AI find and use tools, like Ngrok's, without you needing to know the technical details.
Do I need Ngrok installed?
Yes, you need an active Ngrok account and must follow the connection steps indicated by the tool.
What do 'schemas' mean?
Schemas are like instruction manuals for the AI, telling it what information (fields) a command needs and how it should be provided.
