ninox-automation

Has your agent automate tasks in Ninox. It's useful for managing databases and workflows.

What it does

This tool lets you automate tasks in your Ninox database. It connects to Ninox through a system called Rube MCP to perform actions.

When to use it

  • ✓When you need to add many records to Ninox at once.
  • ✓When you want to update existing information in Ninox automatically.
  • ✓When you need to fetch specific data from Ninox to use elsewhere.

Example of what to ask your AI

“Connect to Ninox and add these 100 customer records.”

How to use

The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

Ready-to-paste message

Use this skill to help me: https://github.com/ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills/blob/master/composio-skills/ninox-automation/SKILL.md Read the SKILL.md file at that link and follow its instructions for my task.
How it works

First, the tool checks what Ninox actions are available. Then, it makes sure the connection to Ninox is active. Finally, it performs the action you requested using the latest information.

Installation

Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill ninox-automation

Or download just the file:

curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills/master/composio-skills/ninox-automation/SKILL.md -o SKILL.md

Ninox Automation via Rube MCP

Automate Ninox operations through Composio's Ninox toolkit via Rube MCP.

Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/ninox

Prerequisites

  • Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
  • Active Ninox connection via RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit ninox
  • Always call RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS first to get current tool schemas

Setup

Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.

  1. Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS responds
  2. Call RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit ninox
  3. If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
  4. Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows

Tool Discovery

Always discover available tools before executing workflows:

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Ninox operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}

This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.

Core Workflow Pattern

Step 1: Discover Available Tools

RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Ninox task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}

Step 2: Check Connection

RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["ninox"]
session_id: "your_session_id"

Step 3: Execute Tools

RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
  tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
  arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"

Known Pitfalls

  • Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
  • Check connection: Verify RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS shows ACTIVE status before executing tools
  • Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
  • Memory parameter: Always include memory in RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL calls, even if empty ({})
  • Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
  • Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

Quick Reference

Operation Approach
Find tools RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS with Ninox-specific use case
Connect RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS with toolkit ninox
Execute RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL with discovered tool slugs
Bulk ops RUBE_REMOTE_WORKBENCH with run_composio_tool()
Full schema RUBE_GET_TOOL_SCHEMAS for tools with schemaRef

FAQ

What is Rube MCP?

It's a system that helps connect different tools, like Ninox, so they can communicate and work together.

Do I need any special keys to use it?

No, you just need to add the Rube MCP address in your program's settings.

What if the connection fails?

If the connection isn't active, you'll get a link to follow to complete the setup. Then, check if it's active before proceeding.
