od-next-strategy
Lets your agent execute planning and build strategies. It organizes tasks and carries out the plan. Useful for managing complex projects efficiently.
What it does
This tool helps the AI plan and execute complex tasks. It organizes the necessary information so the AI knows what to do and how to do it.
When to use it
- ✓When you need the AI to create a detailed plan for a project.
- ✓When the AI needs to execute a specific and well-defined task.
- ✓When you want the AI to follow a set of predefined instructions.
Example of what to ask your AI
“AI, use the OD Next V2 strategy to plan the creation of a new mobile app.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

How it works
The AI selects a specific task profile and loads the instruction files in the correct order. It decides whether it needs to create a plan or execute the task directly.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

OD Next Strategy V2
This bundled scenario packages the stable content used by the internal OD Next planning and Build recipe. It is not a portable strategy selector and does not activate itself.
When Open Design supplies a validated V2 binding, load the assets in this order:
assets/core-system-prompt.mdassets/general-orchestration.md- exactly one task profile selected through
references/task-profile-mapping.md
A task profile may declare resources — non-prompt files such as the
prototype profile's handheld device shells under
assets/task-profiles/prototype/device-frames/. They enter the package
identity with their profile, are never concatenated into the prompt head, and
are staged by Open Design into the project directory (.od-frames/) for the
rule card to reference.
The Agent chooses whether the request needs a plan or direct work. The runtime owns task state and session continuation. A ready plan ends with the current host-keyed production-ready marker; no machine contract is required.
FAQ
What are 'assets'?
'Assets' are the content files that the AI uses, such as instructions and templates.
What is a 'task profile'?
It's a profile that defines the type of task the AI should perform, like creating an app or writing text.
Does the AI always create a plan?
No, the AI decides if it's better to create a plan first or execute the task directly, depending on what is more efficient.
