openrouter-automation
Has your agent interact with the Openrouter tool to automate tasks. It can manage calls and data efficiently.
What it does
This tool helps you automate tasks on Openrouter using Rube MCP. It finds the right tools and ensures your connection is ready before running your tasks.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to perform multiple actions on Openrouter.
- ✓To ensure you are using the latest versions of Openrouter tools.
- ✓When setting up or checking your Openrouter connection.
Example of what to ask your AI
“I want to automate sending a prompt to the GPT-4 model on Openrouter.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

How it works
First, the tool searches for available tools for your specific Openrouter task. Then, it checks if your Openrouter connection is active, and finally, it executes the task using the found tools.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:
npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill openrouter-automationOr download just the file:

Openrouter Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Openrouter operations through Composio's Openrouter toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/openrouter
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Openrouter connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitopenrouter - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitopenrouter - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Openrouter operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Openrouter task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["openrouter"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

FAQ
What is Rube MCP?
Rube MCP is a system that allows AI to find and use tools to perform tasks, like interacting with Openrouter.
Why do I need to search for tools first?
Tools and their instructions (schemas) can change. Searching first ensures the AI uses the most up-to-date and correct information to perform your task.
How do I connect my Openrouter account?
You connect your account through Rube MCP by following an authentication link provided when you first try to set up the connection.
