scrapingant-automation
Helps your agent automate data scraping with Scrapingant. It can extract information from websites.
What it does
This tool lets you automate web data collection (scraping) tasks using the Scrapingant service. It connects to this service to automatically fetch information from websites.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to extract data from multiple websites repeatedly.
- ✓To collect specific information from web pages that change frequently.
- ✓When automating processes that rely on data extracted from the internet.
Example of what to ask your AI
“I want to collect the titles and prices of all products on this e-commerce page.”

How to use
The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

How it works
The tool first checks which data collection functions are available and how to use them. Then, it connects to Scrapingant and performs the data collection task you requested, following the instructions it found.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

Scrapingant Automation via Rube MCP
Automate Scrapingant operations through Composio's Scrapingant toolkit via Rube MCP.
Toolkit docs: composio.dev/toolkits/scrapingant
Prerequisites
- Rube MCP must be connected (RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS available)
- Active Scrapingant connection via
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitscrapingant - Always call
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSfirst to get current tool schemas
Setup
Get Rube MCP: Add https://rube.app/mcp as an MCP server in your client configuration. No API keys needed — just add the endpoint and it works.
- Verify Rube MCP is available by confirming
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLSresponds - Call
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSwith toolkitscrapingant - If connection is not ACTIVE, follow the returned auth link to complete setup
- Confirm connection status shows ACTIVE before running any workflows
Tool Discovery
Always discover available tools before executing workflows:
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "Scrapingant operations", known_fields: ""}]
session: {generate_id: true}
This returns available tool slugs, input schemas, recommended execution plans, and known pitfalls.
Core Workflow Pattern
Step 1: Discover Available Tools
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS
queries: [{use_case: "your specific Scrapingant task"}]
session: {id: "existing_session_id"}
Step 2: Check Connection
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONS
toolkits: ["scrapingant"]
session_id: "your_session_id"
Step 3: Execute Tools
RUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOL
tools: [{
tool_slug: "TOOL_SLUG_FROM_SEARCH",
arguments: {/* schema-compliant args from search results */}
}]
memory: {}
session_id: "your_session_id"
Known Pitfalls
- Always search first: Tool schemas change. Never hardcode tool slugs or arguments without calling
RUBE_SEARCH_TOOLS - Check connection: Verify
RUBE_MANAGE_CONNECTIONSshows ACTIVE status before executing tools - Schema compliance: Use exact field names and types from the search results
- Memory parameter: Always include
memoryinRUBE_MULTI_EXECUTE_TOOLcalls, even if empty ({}) - Session reuse: Reuse session IDs within a workflow. Generate new ones for new workflows
- Pagination: Check responses for pagination tokens and continue fetching until complete

FAQ
Do I need to pay for Scrapingant?
The tool automates the use of Scrapingant, but you still need an active and configured Scrapingant account for it to work.
What is Rube MCP?
Rube MCP is a system that helps connect and manage different tools and services, like Scrapingant, so they can be used together.
Can I scrape data from any website?
Generally yes, but some websites may have anti-scraping measures or require specific configurations. It's always good to check Scrapingant's documentation for more complex cases.
