todo-write
Helps your agent plan what to do before starting to create something. It commits to the plan to ensure quality.
What it does
This tool helps the AI create a step-by-step plan before it starts writing anything. It ensures the AI follows a clear and organized roadmap.
When to use it
- ✓When you need the AI to create a complex document.
- ✓To ensure the AI doesn't skip important steps.
- ✓If you want a record of what the AI planned to do.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Create a plan to write a blog post about the benefits of meditation.”

How it works
The AI first creates a numbered to-do list. Then, it executes each task, marking them as complete. If something blocks progress, the AI adds it as a new to-do.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

Todo write
Before writing any artifact files, the agent commits to a numbered plan via its plan tool. The plan is the audit trail; subsequent turns either tick items off or rewrite the plan. The atom's prompt fragment teaches the agent to:
- Keep todos atomic (one verb per todo).
- Reorder freely as the picture sharpens.
- Mark a todo complete only after the matching artifact lands.
- Surface blockers as todos — never silently skip.
The OpenDesign daemon does not enforce a particular tool name; use whichever plan tool this session actually exposes. The host renders every one of them as the same live Todos card. The atom's job is to keep "make a plan first" in the system prompt so non-trivial workflows don't skip the planning step.
FAQ
What are 'todos'?
'Todos' are the individual tasks the AI commits to doing, like 'write the introduction' or 'review the text'.
Why does the AI need a plan?
A plan helps the AI organize its work, ensuring everything is done in the right order and nothing is forgotten.
What happens if the AI encounters a problem?
If the AI encounters a problem, it adds it to the to-do list as a 'todo' so you know what's happening.
