azure-ai-vision-imageanalysis-py

Has your agent analyze images to describe content. Useful for auto-captions, text recognition, and object detection.

What it does

This tool allows a computer to 'see' and understand images. It can describe what's in a photo, identify objects, read text, and even suggest how to crop the image to highlight the most important parts.

When to use it

  • ✓To automatically describe images on a website.
  • ✓To find all products in a stock photo.
  • ✓To extract text from scanned documents.

Example of what to ask your AI

“Describe this image, identify the objects, and read the text within it.”

How it works

You send an image to the tool, and it uses artificial intelligence to analyze the content. It then returns information like captions, tags, object locations, and detected text.

Installation

Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill azure-ai-vision-imageanalysis-py

Or download just the file:

FAQ

What types of images can I analyze?

You can analyze images in formats like JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WEBP, ICO, TIFF, and MPO, with a maximum size of 20MB and dimensions between 50x50 and 16000x16000 pixels.

Can the tool tell me what's in the image?

Yes, it can provide general captions, content tags, detect specific objects, and even describe multiple regions of the image with 'dense captions'.

Can I extract text from images?

Yes, the tool uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to read and extract any text present in the image, showing the location of each word.
