dependency-scanning
Helps your agent check for known security flaws in software components. It's useful for ensuring the code used doesn't have exploitable issues.
What it does
This tool checks if the software parts you use (called 'dependencies') have known security issues. It helps find and fix these flaws before they cause problems.
When to use it
- ✓When adding new libraries to your project.
- ✓Before releasing a new version of your software.
- ✓Periodically, to ensure everything remains secure.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Scan my project's dependencies for security vulnerabilities.”

How it works
The tool compares the versions of libraries you're using against lists of known security problems. If it finds a match, it alerts you so you can update or fix it.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.
In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

Dependency Scanning
Identify vulnerabilities in third-party dependencies and libraries.
When to Use This Skill
Use this skill when:
- Managing third-party dependencies
- Implementing software composition analysis
- Meeting compliance requirements
- Securing the software supply chain
- Automating vulnerability detection
Prerequisites
- Package manifest files (package.json, requirements.txt, etc.)
- CI/CD pipeline access
- Dependency scanning tool
