loki-logging

Lets your agent configure Grafana Loki to collect and analyze logs.

What it does

Loki is a tool that collects and organizes all the logs from different parts of your system in one place. It allows you to search and analyze these logs easily.

When to use it

  • ✓When you need to gather logs from multiple applications.
  • ✓To monitor what's happening in Kubernetes environments.
  • ✓To view your logs in charts and dashboards with Grafana.

Example of what to ask your AI

“Collect and organize logs from my web application and database.”

How to use

The easiest way: copy the message below and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any AI. It reads the skill and follows the instructions.

Ready-to-paste message

Use this skill to help me: https://github.com/sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills/blob/main/plugins/agentic-awesome-skills-claude/skills/loki-logging/SKILL.md Read the SKILL.md file at that link and follow its instructions for my task.
How it works

Loki receives logs from a program called Promtail, which collects them from where they are. Loki then stores them and allows you to search them using Grafana.

Installation

Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

In the terminal (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor), in your project folder:

npx skills add sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills --skill loki-logging

Or download just the file:

curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills/main/plugins/agentic-awesome-skills-claude/skills/loki-logging/SKILL.md -o SKILL.md

Grafana Loki

Aggregate and query logs with Grafana Loki, the Prometheus-inspired logging system.

When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when:

  • Implementing cost-effective log aggregation
  • Building logging for Kubernetes environments
  • Integrating logs with Grafana dashboards
  • Querying logs with label-based filtering
  • Preferring lighter-weight alternative to ELK

Prerequisites

  • Docker or Kubernetes
  • Grafana for visualization
  • Promtail or other log shipper

FAQ

What are logs?

Logs are like a diary for a program or system, recording what happened, when it happened, and if there were any errors.

Do I need to install Grafana?

Yes, Grafana is used to visualize and analyze the logs that Loki collects, displaying them in easy-to-understand charts and tables.

What is Promtail?
