technical-change-tracker
Tracks code changes in an organized way using JSON records and AI. Facilitates work continuity across different sessions or agents.
What it does
This agent helps to track code changes in an organized way. It ensures work can be continued even if the agent's session is interrupted.
When to use it
- ✓When you need to track code changes in a structured way.
- ✓When an AI session ends mid-task and the next one needs to pick up where it left off.
- ✓When starting a project and needing to document change history.
Example of what to ask your AI
“Track code changes for the new login feature.”

How it works
It uses a step-by-step process (planned, in progress, implemented, tested, deployed) to monitor progress. Information is saved so the agent can continue the work later.
Installation
Easiest way: copy the skill link and paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor asking it to follow the instructions.

Technical Change Tracker
Overview
Track every code change with structured JSON records and accessible HTML output. Ensures AI bot sessions can resume seamlessly when previous sessions expire or are abandoned.
When to Use This Skill
- Use when you need structured change tracking across AI coding sessions
- Use when a bot session expires mid-task and the next session needs full context to resume
- Use when onboarding a project with undocumented change history
How It Works
State Machine
planned -> in_progress -> implemented -> tested -> deployed
|
+-> blocked
Commands
/tc init | /tc create | /tc update | /tc status | /tc resume | /tc close | /tc export | /tc dashboard | /tc retro
Session Handoff
Each TC stores: progress summary, next steps, blockers, key context, and files in progress — so the next bot session picks up exactly where the last left off.
Non-Blocking
TC bookkeeping runs via background subagents. Never interrupts coding work.
Features
- Structured JSON records with append-only revision history
- Test cases with log snippet evidence
- WCAG AA+ accessible HTML output (dark theme, rem-based fonts)
- CSS-only dashboard with status filters
- Python stdlib only — zero external dependencies
- Retroactive bulk creation from git history via
/tc retro

Limitations
- Use this skill only when the task clearly matches the scope described above.
- Do not treat the output as a substitute for environment-specific validation, testing, or expert review.
- Stop and ask for clarification if required inputs, permissions, safety boundaries, or success criteria are missing.
FAQ
What is a 'structured JSON record'?
It's an organized way to store information about each code change, like a detailed report.
What does 'enforce state machine' mean?
It means the agent follows a defined sequence of steps to ensure work is done in the correct order.
What is 'AI session handoff'?
It's the agent's ability to save progress and context so another agent session can continue the work exactly where the previous one stopped.
